Burton
J. Cohen, M.D.
Top
Dr. Cohen is the founder
of the original practice of Cohen and Silk, P.S.C., which has
become Kentuckiana Ear, Nose and Throat.
He is a native of Louisville.
He received an undergraduate diploma from Michigan State
University and completed medical school at the University of
Louisville. After
serving his internship, Dr. Cohen spent two years in the Air
Force prior to returning to Louisville to complete his residency
training in otolaryngology.
He is widely respected in the medical community and has
served as president and chair of many state and local medical
and professional organizations.
Currently, he serves as a member of the Board of
Directors of the Louisville Zoo.
His practice is limited to otology (disorders related to
the ear). Dr. Cohen
is married and has four children and three grandchildren.

Kenneth
L. Silk, M.D.
Top
Dr.
Silk is a native of Detroit, Michigan.
He completed his undergraduate pre-med curriculum degree
and earned his M.D. degree from the University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor. Dr. Silk
served his internship from 1967-68 at the Medical College of
Virginia in Richmond, VA. From
there he went to Cleveland where he served two years with the
U.S. Public Health Service and the U.S. Coast Guard.
From 1970-74 he completed his ENT residency at Indiana
University. In 1974
he moved to Louisville to begin practice at Cohen & Silk,
P.S.C. Dr. Silk is
a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and a Fellow
of the American College of Surgeons.
He has been president and chairperson of various hospital
committees as well as local and state medical organizations.
He is married with two sons and a daughter.
His professional practice interests include general ENT,
rhinology and sinus disease, and head and neck oncologic
surgery. His
personal interests include family activities, travel, golf,
music and the outdoors.

Bruce
A. Scott, M.D.
Top
Dr. Scott grew up in
Louisville and also attended high school here.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt
University. He
graduated from medical school at the University of Texas
Southwest Branch in 1987 and remained for his
otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency.
He completed a fellowship accredited by the American
Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the
Texas Medical Center in Houston following his general residency
training. Dr. Scott
is very involved with the American Medical Association and
American Academy of Otolaryngology and holds national leadership
positions with both organizations.
He practices general otolaryngology and also has
expertise in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Scott is married and has three children.

George
H. Rudwell, M.D.
Top
Dr. Rudwell is a native
of Richmond, Indiana. He
received a B.A. degree from Indiana University in 1960.
He completed his medical degree at the Indiana University
Medical School in 1964. Following
a year of internship in San Francisco, Dr. Rudwell returned to
the IU Medical Center to complete four years of residency
training in otolaryngology, and then served two years in the
United States Air Force. He
has been practicing otolaryngology in Jeffersonville, Indiana
for over 25 years, and merged his practice with Cohen & Silk
P.S.C. in 1998 to form Kentuckiana Ear, Nose and Throat.
He practices general otolaryngology and has considerable
experience in endoscopic sinus surgery.
He is married and has three children.

Brian
L. Hawkins, M.D.
Top
Dr. Hawkins is a native
of Louisville and received a bachelor’s degree in biology with
highest honors from the University of Kentucky in 1984.
He graduated summa cum laude from the University
of Louisville School of Medicine in 1988, and stayed at the
University of Louisville to complete residency training.
Dr. Hawkins joined an academic practice at the University
of Louisville following residency and combined teaching as an
assistant professor in the division of otolaryngology, with
private practice, for four years.
In 1998 he left academic practice to join Kentuckiana
Ear, Nose and Throat. Dr.
Hawkins is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology,
and current president of the Louisville Otolaryngologic Society.
He practices general otolaryngology, and has special
interests in laryngology and voice disorders, pediatric
otolaryngology, and sinus surgery.
He is married with two daughters and a son.

Mark
A. Severtson, M.D.
Top
Dr. Severtson is a
native of the Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington state.
A magna cum laude graduate of Yale University, Dr.
Severtson earned
his medical degree from Columbia University’s College of
Physicians and Surgeons in 1992 and completed his residency
training at Loyola University, Chicago, in 1997.
He extended his training with an American Otologic
Society approved fellowship in otology/neurotology through the
Ear Foundation and Vanderbilt University in Nashville,
Tennessee. He is
board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Severtson concentrates his practice in the areas of
otology and neurotology (medical and surgical disorders of the
ear, balance system, and skull base).
Dr. Severtson and his wife, a clinical psychologist, have
two children. He enjoys golf and traveling to the Pacific Northwest.
